The beginning of production in the Czech Republic (at that time Austrian-Hungarian Empire)dates back to roughly the middle of the 19th century, when the tradition of decorating trees entered Czech households from Germany.
The rather complicated production needs a lot of hand-work and is done in three steps. In first stage the body with a neck is made of glass tubes, during the second stage the blown flasks are silvered from inside. During the third stage the flasks are dried, coloured and decorated by hand.
